Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (Japanese: 機動戦士ガンダムUC(ユニコーン) Hepburn: Kidō Senshi Gandamu Yunikōn) is a novel by popular Japanese author Harutoshi Fukui (Shūsen no Lorelei, Bōkoku no Aegis). The novel takes place in Gundam's Universal Century timeline. Character and mechanical designs are provided by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko and Hajime Katoki, respectively. An anime adaptation of the novels premiered on Sony's PlayStation Network Japan on February 20, 2010, and the first episode had a simultaneous worldwide DVD and Blu-ray Disc release on March 12, 2010.

Plot

The series begins in U.C. 0001, at the very beginning of human space colonization, when a space colony called Laplace is destroyed during a ceremony hosted by the Federation's Prime Minister ushering in the Universal Century dating system. The main story takes place in UC 0096, sixteen years after the end of the One Year War, three years after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, and 27 years before Mobile Suit Gundam F91.

The story revolves around Banagher Links, a seemingly normal boy living and going to school in the space colonies. His life changes one day when he meets a girl named Audrey Burne, as the encounter brings him into contact with a new Gundam and its connections to an item called "Laplace's Box."

Fukui also wrote a prequel novel, which was bundled with the PS3 adaptation's Special Edition released on March 8, 2012. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn: The Postwar War contains an all-new story set two years before the events of the first episode. It deals with Full Frontal's origins and how the Neo Zeon stole the Sinanju.

Manga

A manga adaptation titled Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Bande Dessinée (機動戦士ガンダムUC(ユニコーン)バンデシネ Kidō Senshi Gandamu Yunikōn Bandeshine^?) started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Gundam Ace in early 2010. The manga is written by Fukui Harutoshi and illustrated by Kouzou Oomori. Its first tankōbon volume was released on July 26, 2010.

Anime

In the June 2009 issue of the Japanese monthly manga magazine Gundam Ace, it was announced that an anime adaptation of Gundam Unicorn was green-lit for late 2009 and later moved to spring 2010. It is directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi and features screenplays written by Yasuyuki Muto. Hajime Katoki, who was the mechanical designer for the novel, works on the anime alongside veteran designers Junya Ishigaki and Mika Akitaka, and newcomer Nobuhiko Genba. Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's character designs were adapted for the series Kumiko Takahashi, and the music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano. It was planned to be six 50-minute episodes with a worldwide release. The series premiered on PlayStation Network Japan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable systems on February 20, 2010. The Blu-ray Disc edition was released simultaneously worldwide on March 12, 2010, featuring both Japanese and English audio and subtitles in five languages (Japanese, English, French, Spanish and Chinese). The series was originally slated to last six episodes. However, on May 13, 2012, Bandai announced that the storyline will wrap up with a seventh episode. Bandai Entertainment released the first four episodes of Unicorn on DVD before shutting down in 2012. Sunrise will release the OVA series on DVD in North America in four volumes with distribution from Right Stuf Inc. beginning in August 2013.

A Neo-Zeon remnant group called the "Sleeves" travels to Side 4's Industrial 7 colony, so that its captain, Zinnerman, can receive a "key" to something known as "Laplace's Box" from Vist Foundation leader Cardeas Vist. The item is said to be capable of either restoring the future or destroying the world. Audrey Burne seeks to meet Vist first and convince him not to turn over Laplace's Box, believing the Sleeves will use it to start another war. Along the way, she is rescued by 16-year-old student Banagher Links, who agrees to take her to Vist. Meanwhile, a battle breaks out between the Federation's Londo Bell taskforce and the Sleeves. As the collateral damage rises, the colony is evacuated. Amidst the chaos, Banagher discovers the fatally-wounded Cardeas Vist in the cockpit of the Unicorn Gundam. Before his death, Vist entrusts the Gundam to Banagher, who realizes that Vist is his father. The transformed Unicorn Gundam overpowers the Kshatriya and Marida is ordered to retreat. The Unicorn is picked up by the Londo Bell ship Nahel Argama. Banagher is questioned by Daguza Mackle about how he came to possess the Unicorn Gundam but is interrupted by the Sleeves' surprise attack. Full Frontal, the leader of Neo Zeon, demands that the Nahel Argama hand over any items related to Laplace's Box, including the Unicorn. Daguza tries to ensure safe passage by holding Audrey - revealed to be Zeon Princess Mineva Lao Zabi - hostage, but Frontal refuses to accept they have the real Mineva. With no other choice, Banagher sorties in the Unicorn against the Sinanju; he fights well, but is captured when blindsided by the Kshatriya. Banagher is taken to meet Frontal at the Sleeves asteroid base of Palau. After discussing the nature of Zeon with Marida, who is placed in charge of watching over Banagher, a crew member from the Nahel Argama disguised as a bum bumps into Banagher and passes him a map and a transmitter, telling him to get to the 14th space gate or risk being killed in the coming battle. The Earth Federation and ECOAS execute their assault on Palau, with the intention of rescuing Banagher and the Unicorn. Saboteurs destroy Palau's connecting bridges, while the Nahel Argama unleashes its Hyper-Mega Particle Cannon, pushing the asteroids towards each other to damage much of the Sleeves' forces. Any Sleeves unit getting out is ambushed by ECOAS units hiding in the rocks. Riddhe springs Audrey from detention so they can go to Earth and talk to his father, Ronan, but not before trying to convince a surprised Micott about their intentions. Banagher finds the Unicorn Gundam and tries to escape, defeating Marida in the process. She is eventually captured and Alberto Vist is allowed to escort her to an Anaheim Electronics facility on Earth. Banagher and Daguza proceed to the remains of Laplace with the intention of activating Laplace's Box, but hear the original broadcast of the Earth Federation establishment ceremony. The Sleeves are not far behind and the EFSF/ECOAS units fight them. The Sinanju appears and Daguza sacrifices his life to buy Banagher some time to activate the Unicorn's Destroy Mode. The fight sheds parts of the Laplace colony and sends them into the atmosphere. Banagher continues to pursue Full Frontal during the reentry, but a beam magnum shot meant for the Sinanju hits Gilboa Sant instead. The Zeon Remnant forces attack the Federation Capitol Building at Dakar in a feint operation to allow the Garencieres to descend to Earth safely. Banagher is revealed to have been rescued from death by landing on the Garencieres mid-descent. Marida is transported to a Federation facility in North America, where Martha Vist Carbine manipulates her using the wreck of an old Mass-Production Qubeley, which she had piloted in the past. Audrey is held at the Marcenas estate. Riddhe escapes after his father, Ronan, tells him the truth about Laplace's Box. Audrey briefly escapes captivity long enough to have a insightful conversation with an old man in a local diner, which strengthens her resolve. Bright Noa is ordered to take Riddhe on board the Ra Cailum under his command, as well as capture the Garencieres. After being called in from around the world, the Zeon Remnant forces band together and assault Torrington Base en masse. The Shamblo's pilot, Loni Garvey, falls victim to the malfunctioning on-board psycommu system, becoming a channel for her dead father's bloodlust and begins indiscriminately massacring the population of a local city, despite being ordered to avoid causing collateral damage. Banagher, appalled by the resulting destruction, confronts Zinnerman about his hypocritical rationalizing of the situation and flies out in the Unicorn Gundam to put a stop to Loni's rampage. After failing to reason with her, he activates the NT-D in a last-ditch effort to stop her without resorting to lethal force. Incensed by Banagher's refusal to kill Loni, Riddhe decides to kill her himself, much to Banagher's dismay, and orders him at gunpoint to hand over the Unicorn Gundam according to Captain Bright's orders. After neutralizing the Delta Plus, the newly-arrived Banshee captures the Unicorn and returns it to the Ra Cailum, where Riddhe encounters and attempts to question Alberto Vist of Anaheim Electronics' motives, only to be ignored. Meanwhile, on the Garuda, Martha requests Mineva's assistance to coerce Banagher's cooperation in disclosing the location of Laplace's Box. On the Ra Cailum, Bright speaks with Banagher and comes to terms with the latter's actions, before learning of the Federation's covert deployment of the new Dogosse Gier-class battleship General Revil. He sends orders to the Nahel Argama, instructing them to rendezvous with the Garencieres. The Tri-Stars, Riddhe, Marida and Banagher are assigned to provide cover while the Unicorn Gundam is transferred back to the Garuda. However, combat between the Garuda and Garencieres' forces breaks out, and in the ensuing chaos, Banagher restrains the Banshee long enough for Zimmerman to board the Garuda. Riddhe enters the Garuda's rear docking bay and confronts Anaheim staff to rescue Mineva, but before he can do so, Zimmerman begins firing on them. Mineva takes advantage of the distraction to reach Zimmerman, who gives her a parachute. An exploding Anksha damages the docking bay and incapacitates Zimmerman. Riddhe pleads with Mineva to no avail; she leaps off the Garuda and is caught by Banagher, who activates the Unicorn's NT-D system. After he brings Mineva to the Garencieres, Banagher forces the Banshee into the Garuda hangar. Marida identifies the Delta Plus as a Gundam and decimates it with the Banshee's Armed Armor VN claw. Having regained consciousness, Zimmerman reaches out to Marida and implores that she return to the Garencieres. Realizing her original identity, Marida falls out of the Banshee's cockpit unconscious. The Garencieres undergoes the next phase of its mission and attempts to link with the Nahel Argama as per the original mission. However, an engine malfunction causes the ship to fall out of its designated trajectory. Despite this, the Nahel Argama fires its tow cable, which is caught by the Unicorn; the forces exerted on the machine threaten to pull it apart. The spirits of Daguza Mackle and Gilboa Sant appear, resulting in the Unicorn's psycoframe producing a green luminescence, helping the Garencieres achieve orbit. Both ships find themselves under heavy fire from the General Revil. Flast believes that this was orchestrated by the Federation, but Mineva notes that the Federation attack patterns imply their intent on destroying the Garencieres and the Nahel Argama. Banagher attempts to engage the forces, but the Unicorn has exhausted its fuel supply. Angelo Sauper and his YAMS-132 Rozen Zulu appears and lays waste to the Federation mobile suits. 6	"Two Worlds, Two Tomorrows" ("The Sky and the Stars") "Sora to Hoshi to" (宇宙（そら）と地球（ほし）と)	March 2, 2013
Full Frontal and Angelo Sauper comes in to rescue the Nahel Argama and the Garencieres as the EFSF flagship General Revil bears down on them. The Londo Bell Tri-Stars chase down the Garencieres, which suddenly blows up as a decoy to buy time for the Sleeves to take over the Nahel Argama. In explaining the takeover, Full Frontal says it was an opportunity to finally open Laplace's Box, reveals his memories of the events of Char's Counterattack and his reasons for continuing to oppose the Earth Federation; implying very strongly that he is in fact Char Aznable. He leaves Angelo in charge of the vessel as it heads back to Industrial 7 - where the last clue leads to - along with the Rewloola. A group of crewmen send out a SOS prompting the Federation's Luna II base to send a Salamis cruiser in pursuit. Captain Otto defies Angelo's orders to destroy the warship, breaking up the arrangement. An ECOAS team led by Conroy Haagensen assaults the Nahel Argama and gradually fights the Neo-Zeon troops back to the MS hangar deck. Banagher activates the Unicorn to aid in the attack, but Full Frontal faces him and threatens him with death if he doesn't join the Neo-Zeon's cause, since Mineva already knows where the Box is. With Mineva's help, Marida reactivates the Kshatriya to prevent Angelo from destroying the Nahel Argama but declares that they aren't supporting Full Frontal’s plan to use the Box to launch another war with the Federation. As Marida seeks Zinnerman's permission to fight the Sleeves, he decides to finally let her go and live her own life. Angelo and Full Frontal fly back to the Rewloola in Angelo's Rozen Zulu. Back on Earth, Martha Vist threatens Bright Noa and Londo Bell with being left out of the pursuit operation if they do not co-operate with her. She also barges into a meeting of Ronan Marcenas and several EFSF politicians to announce her intentions to prevent the Box's opening. Upon entering the region near Industrial 7, Banagher flies out in the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam to get closer to opening the Box. A surprise awaits him though - the Unicorn Banshee Norn, piloted by Riddhe Marcenas, who was earlier briefed by Alberto Vist about the origins of the Vist Foundation. SP	"Mobile Suit Gundam UC: One of Seventy-Two" "Kidou Senshi Gundam UC: ONE OF SEVENTY TWO" (機動戦士ガンダムUC: ONE OF SEVENTY TWO)	August 3, 2013 (DOME-G, Gundam Front Tokyo)
The Sleeves test the AMX-107R ReBawoo mobile suit in a shoal zone on December 3, UC 0095. Having learned about the test, the Earth Federation and Anaheim Electronics sends one ship each to investigate the Sleeves' test as Martha Vist Carbine watches the operation unfold. The Federation deploys the Unicorn Gundam Unit 3 Phenex in a bid to destroy the ReBawoo and the Unicorn Banshee. The ReBawoo splits up and escapes as the two Unicorn Gundams fight each other in Destroy Mode. When the two units' psychoframes resonate, Martha orders the operation terminated, but the Phenex suddenly breaks away and makes for the Federation ship. Two Federation officials aboard the ship are aghast to see the Phenex just outside the bridge before the screen fades to black.
7	"Over the Rainbow" "Niji no Kanata ni" (虹の彼方に)	June 6, 2014
Banagher and Riddhe continue to fight each other as the Nahel Argama crew and the Sleeves join forces with Conroy's ECOAS troops in taking on the Neo-Zeon forces around Industrial 7. In the ensuing battle, Banagher is able to break away and resupply for the trip to the colony, taking along Mineva while disposing of Angelo along the way. Marida launches in the Kshatriya Repaired to keep Riddhe at bay, however, because of conflicting voices from several people, Riddhe is forced to kill her and later regrets doing it. As a last act, Marida warns everyone of a new threat. Zinnerman aids the Nahel Argama crew in the battle. Banagher and Mineva arrive at Industrial 7 and head towards Magallanica, where Syam Vist and Gael are. Seeing that the two proved themselves as Newtypes through the Unicorn, Syam explains the truth behind Laplace's Box - it is the original Universal Century charter, which had an extra clause stating that people from the space colonies must be involved in the Earth Federation's future government affairs. However, the Federation erased the clause from the version they've been using since the destruction of Laplace in UC 0001. Syam explains that Mineva and Banagher were worthy of preserving the Box because the Republic of Zeon was going to lose its autonomy in four years' time. As Syam encourages Mineva to broadcast the information about the Box to the Earth Sphere, Full Frontal appears and asks Syam to give it to him. When Vist refuses, Full Frontal leaves in the Neo-Zeong mobile armor and intends to destroy the Box himself. The mobile armor easily disposes of the ECOAS forces in the area, as well as Gael (who barely manages to buy Banagher enough time to get back to the Unicorn). Banagher and Riddhe take on Full Frontal. As Frontal immobilizes Riddhe, he ensnares Banagher and they make a transcendent trip through time, witnessing various events throughout history (including scenes from the earlier Gundam series). Meanwhile, Bright Noa arrives at Cheyenne Base in North America and, under the guise of an inspection with Londo Bell, comes down to confront Martha Vist Carbine and the Federation leadership over the situation in space. He learns that the Federation is using the Titans' old Gryps II colony laser to destroy Industrial 7 and prevent the opening of Laplace's Box. Ronan Marcenas activates the superweapon over Bright's pleas, but is stunned to hear too late from Alberto Vist that Riddhe is in the line of fire. The Nahel Argama crew is alerted and leaves before the firing, which vaporizes the Neo-Zeon forces. After Full Frontal attempts to sway Banagher's judgement by showing him that the end of time is devoid of life, and that Newtypes cannot hope to change humans' propensity for war, Lalah Sune's spirit appears and tells Full Frontal that the glow of the Newtype phenomena warms the universe. Char Aznable's spirit partly appears and tells Full Frontal that the time has come to pass on, leaving Full Frontal's physical body dead, revealing that he had truly been a vessel for Char's spirit and ideology as he had stated before. As Banagher and Riddhe depart to protect Magellanica, Char, Lalah, and Amuro's spirits soar off into space together with Char saying that the future is up to those left behind. Banagher and Riddhe combine the power of the Unicorns' NT-D psychofield and stops the Gryps beam as the Magallanica - revealed to be Industrial 7's Colony Bulder - separates from the colony. Mineva addresses the Earth Sphere aboard the Magallanica while Syam passes away. Bright and the Londo Bell take away Martha Vist Carbine for questioning as Alberto asks her to let things go now that the Box was opened. Otto invites Zinnerman for a drink after the post-battle recovery and Angelo regains consciousness to mourn Frontal's death. Having survived the Gryps blast, Banagher awakes and he goes home along with Riddhe, who swears to pursue Audrey. Episode 7's theme song is "StarRingChild" by Aimer

1.       The literal translation of episode two's Japanese title is "The Red Comet", an honorary title that was bestowed upon the character Char Aznable, whom Full Frontal was designed to emulate. However the title "The Second Coming of Char" was chosen by Sunrise for the English release.

2.       The literal translation of episode six's Japanese title is "The Sky and the Stars". However the title "Two Worlds, Two Tomorrows" was chosen by Sunrise for the English release.

 

Video games

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is one of the playable secret mobile suits in Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next. For the PlayStation Portable port Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus, the Unicorn is joined by the NZ-666 Kshatriya. The Unicorn is part of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3, along with the Sinanju and Kshatriya (DLC only). The Unicorn, Kshatriya, Sinanju, and the Delta Plus are the initial UC units included in the arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs., and were later supplanted by the Banshee and Rozen Zulu. In the Wii and PlayStation Portable Game "SD Gundam G Generation World," the Unicorn Gundam, Kshatriya, Sinanju, Delta Plus, Loto, Rezel, the Jegan units and Geara Zulu (including Angelo Sauper's custom) are playable units. In SD Overworld, units from episode 4 and 5 are now included with some units from the PS3 game, such as Gundam Delta Kai, Delta Gundam and the Sinanju Stein. This suit is also in SD Gundam Online.

An action game based on the first three episodes of the anime adaptation was developed by From Software and was published by Namco Bandai during March 8, 2012 in Japan.

Toys/Models

The first models to come from the series were the 1/100 Master Grade "Ver. Ka" (Ka stands for series mecha designer Hajime Katoki) kits of the Sinanju and the Unicorn in 2009, which were followed up with the Full Armor Unicorn in December 2011, the online exclusive Unicorn Banshee "Final Battle" version in March 2012, and the Sinanju Stein in February 2013. All four kits appear as depicted in the novels. A 1/100 Sinanju rocket bazooka is packaged with the eighth issue in the novel series while a 1/100 Armed Armor DE is a free item for the eighth Bande Dessinee volume. The company also produced all of the OVA series' mobile suits (plus the UC MS Variations and Bande Dessinee manga series) in its HGUC line of 1/144 model kits (including the Base Jabber transports); some are special glitterized or colored transparent-plastic kits marketed as online exclusives or as "Theater Limited" items (sold at select moviehouses on the day of an episode screening). The prizes for Bandai's Gunpla mid-year 2014 campaign include clear-plastic HGUC versions of the Unicorn and Banshee (both in Destroy Mode), the Full-Armor Unicorn, Sinanju, Delta Plus, and the Kshatriya. The line also includes the biggest HGUC kit yet - the Neo-Zeong, which stands 86 centimeters high and 50cm wide, and includes a free Sinanju kit.

A number of the kits are also available as Master Grade and B-Club models, with the MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam also sold in a "HD" version featuring its hangar cage. Several UC kits in the two lines have Titanium Finish (metallic) versions. The Phenex was first sold at Gundam Front Tokyo in 1/144 scale as part of the promotions for One of Seventy-Two; the initial casting was criticized, but a Master Grade version of the unit was released in February 2014 as a gold cast model. A proper gold-coat and crystal-cast version of the 1/144 Phenex was sold at the store. A 1/144 Destroy Mode Unicorn was also released in limited numbers as part of the ANA Gundam Sky Project in April 2011.

The Gundam Fix Figuration line also has versions of the standard and Full-Armor Unicorn, and ReZEL, and metal composite Unicorns. Certain issues of Gundam UC Ace magazine also offer free weapon kits.
The series' appearance in the Robot Spirits line of action figures began with the release of the normal mode Unicorn in November 2009, followed by its Destroy Mode version, the Geara Zulu, the Stark Jegan, the Sinanju (as appeared in Episode 2 and 3; a second version released in January 2014, features a rocket bazooka, brighter red color scheme, and a burnt head.), Angelo Sauper's Geara Zulu, and the Destroy Mode and Norn versions of the Banshee. Bandai's Tamashii Shouten online-exclusive shop carries the Elite Guard Geara Zulu, which was released in February 2011, a Destroy Mode Unicorn with glittering psycoframe that can be mated with a special lighting stage. A Destroy Mode Unicorn with green glittering psycoframe as depicted in Episode 5 was released in 2013 with its own lighting stage. Katoki also joined forces with Bandai to create Robot Spirits versions of the Byarlant Custom, Yonem Kirks' Zaku I Sniper, and the Guncannon Detector as online exclusives under the "Ka Signature" collection. Gundam: Reconguista in G

Gundam Reconguista in G (Japanese: ガンダム Gのレコンギスタ Hepburn: Gandamu G no Rekongisuta^?), also referred to as G-Reco (Gレコ), is a 2014 Japanese science fiction anime television series and the thirteenth incarnation of Sunrise's long-running Gundam mecha metaseries. Created for the Gundam 35th Anniversary celebration, it is the first Gundam TV series to be written and directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino since Turn A Gundam in 1999 and features character designs by Kenichi Yoshida of Overman King Gainer & Eureka Seven fame. Airing in the MBS/TBS networks' Animeism block starting in October 2014, it is the first traditional Gundam TV series to be initially released as a late night anime.

For the song, the first opening theme is "Blazing" by Garnidelia, and the first ending theme is "G no Senkō" by Daisuke Hasegawa

Plot summary

The series takes place in the timeline after Universal Century, called Regild Century (R.C.), in the year R.C. 1014, and follows the story of a young pilot cadet named Bellri Zenam (ベルリ・ゼナム), who is a member of the Capital Guard, an organization charged with protecting the orbital elevator, the Capital Tower. When the Capital Tower was under attack by a band of space pirates called the Pirate Corps, Bellri encounters and captures a highly advanced mobile suit, the G-Self, and its pilot, Aida Surugan (アイーダ・スルガン). Feeling an immediate connection with both the G-Self and its pilot, Bellri was somehow able to pilot the mobile suit, which is only operable by a few. Joining the Pirate Corps to fight the Capital Army, Bellri and the rest of the pirates would be involved in a plot that will shake the entire Regild Century era.

Production

Background

News of Yoshiyuki Tomino's new mecha work was first unveiled in September 2011 under the codename G-Reco. Prior to that, in November 2010, Tomino had previewed an unfinished novel in the 100th issue of the magazine Gundam Ace called Hajimetai Capital G no Monogatari (はじめたいキャピタルGの物語), which revolved around a space elevator, and had similar characters and settings. The scenario for the show was completed and the anime began full production in 2012.

Reconguista in G was officially unveiled in a Gundam 35th Anniversary event on March 20, 2014. During the unveiling, Tomino explained that the "G" in the title stands for "Gundam", but primarily means "ground". He also explained that the word "reconguista" is a coined word based on the Spanish word reconquista; however, the Japanese audience prefers a hard "g" in the title which necessitated the change.

Staff

Gundam Reconguista in G is Yoshiyuki Tomino's first major original animated work since The Wings of Rean in 2004, though he had directed a CGI short for Gundam's 30th anniversary in 2009 called Ring of Gundam. The character designs of the series are by Kenichi Yoshida, who had his first character designs credit in Tomino's Overman King Gainer. The mechanical designs are by Akira Yasuda, who previously worked with Tomino as character designer in Turn A Gundam and mecha designer in Overman King Gainer, Kimitoshi Yamane, who also worked with Tomino in Overman King Gainer, and Ippei Gyōbu. Yuugo Kanno is the composer of the music.

R.C. 1014: A mysterious mobile suit, G-Self, is being pursued by a group of space pirates, and the Capital Guard. The suit is captured by the pirates, and the pilot of the suit, Raraiya Monday, was captured by the Capital Guard. A week later, a class of Capital Guard Academy cadets are riding a Crown transport module up along the orbital elevator, Capital Tower, to reach space where they can conduct their first live mobile suit training. On the way up their Crown is attacked by space pirates and their mobile suits, one of which was the G-Self. Bellri Zenam, the youngest of the cadets, pilots a maintenance mobile suit to hold off the G-Self, and helped capture the pirate suit as well as its pilot, Aida Rayhunton.

Capital Territory is attacked by a squadron of space pirate mobile suits led by Cahill Saint, who wanted to rescue the captured Aida. Bellri and his friend Noredo managed to rescue Aida as the structure she was being held in was damaged during the attack. Tasked with piloting the G-Self to repel the pirate attack, Bellri kills Cahill in an act of self-defense as Aida watches.

Piloting the Montero, space pirate ace pilot Klim Nick tries to once again assaults Capital Territory in an attempt to rescue Aida from its crutches. As the battle breaks out, Bellri, Aida, Noredo and Raraiya happened to be in G-Self's cockpit while testing their abilities to pilot the mobile suit. Aida succeeded in wrestling control of the G-Self from the others, who remained in the cockpit as she escape from captivity with Klim.

Klim and Aida returned to the space pirates' mothership, the Megafauna, with the G-Self along with Bellri, Noredo and Raraiya, who are held hostage. Meanwhile, the Capital Army, the Capital Territory's new military, is officially unveiled to the public, and its first mission would be to rescue the hostages from the Megafauna. Bellri, wanting to protect Noredo and Raraiya, piloted the G-Self to put a stop to the fighting, but ended up being forced to defend himself from the Capital Army mobile suits and repelling their attacks.

The Capital Army unveils a new mobile suit, the Elf Bullock, piloted by the mysterious Mask, who leads a team to once again attack the Megafauna. After having gained the trust of the Megafauna crew, Bellri also promises to Aida that he will protect the ship in order to make up for his killing of Cahill, and once again helps fight off the attacking Capital Army mobile suits. However, Bellri and Noredo reveal that they are secretly spying on the pirates and have a plan to escape with the G-Self.
6	"Dellensen, A Fearsome Foe" "Kyōteki, Derensen!" (強敵、デレンセン!)	October 30, 2014
The Megafauna launches into space in order to create a distraction for the assembling Amerian Space Fleet. Dellensen Samatar, Bellri's old instructor at the Capital Guards, pits an Elf Bull to leads a squad of mobile suits to once again attack the Megafauna to try to rescue Bellri. Unbeknownst to Dellensen, the G-Self was actually piloted by Bellri, and the two engaged in combat. The two eventually discovered each others' identities, but it was too late as Bellri shoots Dellensen's Elf Bull down, killing his old instructor in the process.
7	"The Mask Corps's Fierce Assault" "Masuku butai no kyōshū" (マスク部隊の強襲)	November 6, 2014
Frustrated with the increasingly power of the Capital Army, as well as their militaristic behavior, and in order to see her son Bellri, director of the Capital Tower Wilmit Zenam decided to flee to Earth on a small aircraft, but with no space suits to put on. Meanwhile, a new attack squad was being formed by the Capital Army, composed of Kuntala and led by the enigmatic Mask. Their mission was once again to attack the Megafauna. Mask and his squad attacked as Raraiya was piloting the G-Self during a test flight, and with the Capital Army winning the battle, a powerful Amerian mobile armor, the Armorzagan, made an appearance in the battlefield and forced the Capital Army mobile suits to flee.

Mask's forces pull away from attacking Megafauna's mobile suite due to the sudden attacks by the appearance of a Amerian mobile armor. Ameria army of Mick Jack's test machine, Armorzagan, holds off Mask's Forces as Amelia Army inspector general Gusion that appears with supply force traveling to the Megafauna. Bellri to be surprised to know that it is the father of Aida. The Inspector General's supply task force refit's G-Self's damaged flight pack with an experimental flight pack called the "Tricky Backpack", which gives Bell's G-Self new capacities to interfere with a mobile suit electronics. Aida's takes her G-Arcane is regulated to the escort her father by riding with his transport aircraft. However, she suddenly abandons her father when they detect an emerging of unidentified machine intercept from Capital Tower direction. Mask struggled against the G-Self's Tricky Pack equipment, find himself having to abandon the battle. Meanwhile, Aida pilot's her G-Arcane to limits of her machine's flight capacity higher altitudes try to intercept unknown object. Unknown to Aida the unidentified machine she is try to intercept is Bell's mother. After conclusion of the battle with Mask, Bellri rushed G-Self to aid Aida, but soon discovers inbound orbital glider is his mother. Bell manages to restraint Aida and catches the glider and brings it safely back to the Megafauna. Capital Tower Operation Director Wilmit Zenam (Bellri's mother) meets face-to-face with Gusion on Megafauna, is given her explanation of his nation's motives as posing as pirates and reviving forbidden technologies. Zenam find it hard to believe, however Aida presents photos of illegal actives accruing around the Moon. Wilmit becomes distruated and tells Bellri and the other former kidnap victims that their returning to the capital. Elsewhere, Manny who was aboard the Garanden is a recruit of Capital Army and serves as volunteer on the warship. She encounters Captain Mask after arriving from his defeat. Though he does not admit it, but Manny becomes aware of Captain Mask's true identity.

Thanks to Bellri's suggestion, the Megafauna decided to head to the Capital Territory to gain more information about the coming conflicts. The ship would come under attack from the Capital Army but manages to fend them off. Through Wilmit's connections, the Capital Guard, led by Lieutenant Kerbes, escorted them to a hiding place.

Having been discovered by the Capital Army, the Megafauna escapes from Capital Territory while being pursued by the Capital Army officer, Becker Shadam. The G-Self helps protect Aida and her G-Arcane while defeating Becker. The ship then launches into space in order to investigate the rumored threat from the moon.

With both the Capital Army and the Amerian Army greatly boosting their space forces as well as the perceived threat from the moon, a space war is brewing. A squad of mobile suits from the Capital spaceship Garanden, led by Mask, sorties to attack the Megafauna in space, but was fended off by Bellri and the G-Self.

Amerian Army's fleet battles the Capital Army. After withdrawal of Capital Army forces, the Amerians quietly occupies the top of the Capital Tower and holds the Pope captive. However, unknown forces attacks one of the Amerian Army from Luna orbit. 13 "Those Who Came from the Moon" "Tsuki kara ki ta hito tachi" (月から来た人たち)  December 18, 2014 The unknown forces identify as Towasanga, after this kind of happening, the Capital and the Amerians decided to join forces to fight against them. As the pilots return to the meeting, Klim Nick discover about the true ambitions of Towasanga's force to carry their missions as a RECONQUISTA. As one of the Towasanga's pilots enrages to a fistfight, he said the Amerian Army's filthy secert is resupply themselves with Phonton Batteries from Towasanga and left weaknesses in humanity's history.  14 "Space and Mobile Suit Battles" "Supēsu to kidō senshi no tatakai" (スペースと機動戦士の戦い)  December 25, 2014 As the situation intenses, Raraiya identifies Towasanga's army members names and say what their capabilities are.
